Official Campaign Press Releases

Kevan Gentry, a longtime Mustang businessman and community leader, announced today he will seek the Republican nomination for the State House 47 seat, which covers Mustang and a portion of Oklahoma City.

Gentry owns and operates Gentry Service and Repair, a Heating and Air Conditioning company located on Highway 152 in Mustang.

"My wife, Jeannie, and I have made Mustang our home for the past 45 years. I have experienced the American Dream by starting a heat and air business, and appliance repair, in my garage 41 years ago, and building it into a successful small family business with ten employees," Gentry said. His wife and two sons work alongside him in the business.

As a Christian, husband, father, and grandfather, Gentry believes his conservative values mirror the majority of the citizens in the district. "Our Oklahoma values are my values. I am pro-life, I support families, I back the blue and our first responders, and I am a fierce advocate for our Second Amendment rights. I know that hard work and personal responsibility are the core principles that drive economic success, from growing small businesses to our farmers and ranchers. I believe our oil and gas industry is the key to Oklahoma and American energy independence."

Gentry is well-known for his years of community involvement. He is currently the president of the Mustang Chamber of Commerce, having served in this role twice before over the past decade. Gentry has been a member since 1991. He is the co-chair of the Mustang Western Days Committee and is this year's parade chairman. Gentry also serves on the Mustang Chamber Young Leadership Committee and Clay Shoot Committee. For five years, he served as president of Mustang FFA Boosters Club.

"Having spent the last four decades serving customers in Mustang and the surrounding area, I know firsthand many of the challenges we are facing. Our community is experiencing unprecedented growth. Canadian County grew 62% over the past 15 years. This growth brings many challenges, from increased demand on our schools to traffic congestion requiring investments in infrastructure. I believe my business experience and community service will enable me to help prioritize strategic investments and common-sense conservative solutions to problems we face," Gentry said.

As a strong conservative with a passion for serving others, Gentry is committed to improving the lives of hard-working Oklahomans and reducing burdensome government regulation. "With the increased cost of living, the Legislature wisely eliminated the sales tax on groceries two years ago. I believe we can and must do more. Oklahomans are facing staggering increases in homeowners' insurance as well as annual increases in property taxes. It is taking an increasingly large portion of their hard-earned income to get by, rather than getting ahead. We need legislators who will put the needs of everyday Oklahomans ahead of lobbyists and special interests, and I pledge to do just that if elected," Gentry said.

Gentry is the president of Oklahoma City Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors. He has been a member since 1991. Gentry served as zone director for Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arkansas for the National Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors from 2018 to 2021. He currently serves on the Government Relations Committee for the national industry group.

Gentry is a member of the Oklahoma Construction Industry Coalition. For over 20 years, he has collaborated with state and national leaders on issues affecting the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling industry. He is a member of the advisory board for the Canadian Valley Technology Center.

"My experience as a job creator and licensed industry professional makes me uniquely qualified to help tackle challenging problems facing Oklahoma businesses and industry. I know less government, not more, brings innovation. We need to invest in the building blocks of our communities so our schools, businesses, and families can thrive. In short, we need to get back to basics and let our fellow Oklahomans aspire to reach their dreams," Gentry said.

Gentry and his wife, Jeannie, have been married for 47 years and have two sons, Clint and Jarod, both of whom are graduates of Mustang High School, and a two-year-old grandson. Jeannie retired from a 30-year career with Mustang Public Schools. She worked for 26 years at Mustang Elementary School and then helped open Centennial Elementary School, where she worked for four years.

Gentry is a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association and a member of the NRA. He grew up attending Wesley United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City.

Gentry said he would work tirelessly between now and the June 16, 2026, Republican primary to meet voters and earn their votes. "I am committed to running a positive campaign focused on listening and talking about the issues important to the people in House District 47," Gentry said.

"If I have the honor of being elected to the House of Representatives, I will dedicate my full-time efforts to serving with honesty and integrity. I will be available and responsive to the people who send me to the State Capitol to be their voice," Gentry said.
